We honored Dr. Smith at The Power Of Influence/awards for his philanthropy and civil rights work for last 50 years, but we also wanted to do it again and present it to him at the African American Civil War Museum because of the HISTORIC context in which this landmark means to our CULTURE and our HISTORY.
Besides Mrs. Opal Lee, this was one of the most profound moments of the entire weekend because Dr. Smith was at the very first March On Washington back in 1963 with Dr. Martin Luther King.

Formerly known as The POI Awards, The Power Of Influence Legends Ball has now grown into being one of the hottest awards ticket in the country. The Power Of Influence Legends Ball every year recognizes an esteemed group of entertainers, celebrities, athletes, influencers, community leaders and philanthropists for their career accomplishments. Miami, FL (December 29, 2017) -- For the second year in a row, The Power of Influence Awards Brunch returns to Super Bowl weekend with a dynamic list of honorees and a special musical tribute to Minneapolis legend Prince. Comedic genius Kevin Hart, former National Football League (NFL) Hall of Fame recipients Randy Moss and Ray Lewis to receive impressive honors at the 2nd Annual Power of Influence Awards Brunch to be held 12pm – 4pm, Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Maxim Dome in Downtown Minneapolis.
